In a thrilling back-and-forth contest, the San Diego Padres edged out the Toronto Blue Jays 8-7, with Ty France's sixth-inning homer proving decisive, while both starting pitchers struggled as Trey Yesavage was chased early after laboring through 1.2 innings and Walker Buehler gave his team a quality start, but ultimately it was reliever Bradgley Rodriguez who secured the win in a game marked by significant late-game drama and key offensive contributions from Jonatan Clase and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the Jays.
