In a thrilling Crosstown Classic, the Chicago White Sox edged out the Chicago Cubs 9-8 in extra innings, highlighted by a dramatic walk-off homer from Edgar Quero in the bottom of the 10th, overcoming a late-game surge from the Cubs, who had rallied to tie the game in the 9th with a homer from Michael Conforto; both starting pitchers, Colin Rea and Erick Fedde, struggled, each allowing 4 earned runs, but it was reliever Tyler Davis who secured the win with a strong inning of relief for the Sox.
