Twelve Royals farmhands hit minor league free agency, including reliever Alex Lange (6.75 ERA in 59 games in 2026), outrighted last week. Scott Alexander, Matt Moore and Abraham Toro also depart, leaving Omaha's roster noticeably thinner. 📋
Royals outfielder Angeibel Gomez (No. 76 on MLB Pipeline's Top 100) is on the American League roster for Sunday's Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game, one of six AL Top 100 prospects. First pitch is 8 p.m. ET on MLB Network. ⭐
Bobby Witt Jr. lost the AL shortstop Gold Glove to Rays' Taylor Walls, despite leading 12 qualified shortstops in DRS and FRV combined (+17 DRS, +12 FRV). Managers and coaches cast 75% of the vote. Defensive metrics say the wrong guy won. 🧤
Free agency opens with the Royals' priorities clear: rebuild the bullpen and add starting pitching, with a bat still possible. One prediction has them signing Ian Happ, a defensive fit who struggled against lefties. Carter Jensen's 27-homer rookie year earned him a spot on MLB Pipeline's rookie rankings. ⚾
Rays righty Drew Rasmussen is reportedly "at the top of the list" of trade candidates, per Jeff Passan, since his $20M option raises Tampa's payroll. The Royals could pursue the 31-year-old, who had a 2.67 ERA over 172 innings in 2026, to bolster their rotation. 🎯
Danny Jackson threw an immaculate inning in Game 5 of the 1985 World Series: nine pitches, three strikeouts in the 7th. Forty-one years later, he's still the only pitcher to do it in a World Series. Rare air for a Royals lefty. 🔒
Michael Massey turned a rough 2025 into a breakout 2026: .274/.305/.430, 13 homers, a career-high 131 games, and an AL Gold Glove finalist nod. His OPS jumped 154 points, giving the Royals real clarity at second base for 2027. 🧤
Carson Roccaforte just won a Minor League Gold Glove and could be an internal answer in center field. The 24-year-old hit 35 homers with 32 steals and a .857 OPS across Double-A and Triple-A, and needs a 40-man spot to dodge the Rule 5 draft. 🧤
Free agency is open, and a top-30 predictions list links the Royals to Clay Holmes, Ian Happ, Nick Martinez, Kris Bubic and others. The one projected Royals landing: Foster Griffin, a former first-round pick, at 3 years, $48M. 🔍
Royals could revisit a Jarren Duran pursuit, per a Bowden-pitched trade idea, not a done deal. After a 93-loss year, the outfield still needs help. Duran hit .207 with a 69 wRC+ in 2026, which may cut Boston's asking price. 🤔
Bobby Witt Jr. is an AL MVP finalist alongside Junior Caminero and Yordan Alvarez. He hit .281 with 18 HR, 94 runs and a 6.7 WAR, and set a career-high 67 walks. Power was lighter than the other two, but his elite shortstop defense keeps him in the race. 🏆
Bobby Witt Jr. is an AL MVP finalist for the second time, after leading the AL with 7.0 fWAR and +24 Outs Above Average. He'll face Yordan Alvarez and Junior Caminero, with the winner announced Nov. 12. 🏆

Royals Hall of Fame fan voting for the Class of 2027 is open through Nov. 16. Four newcomers (Greinke, Hosmer, Kennedy, Moustakas) join eight returners, including Beltrán, Cain and Butler. 🗳️ Plenty of October memories on one ballot.
Lou Piniella, the Royals' 1969 Rookie of the Year, is one of eight names on the Contemporary Baseball Era Hall of Fame ballot for 2027. He'd need 75% of 16 votes, with results due Dec. 6. 🗳️
Fan voting is open for the Royals Hall of Fame Class of 2027. Zack Greinke, Eric Hosmer, Ian Kennedy and Mike Moustakas are new on the ballot, joining holdovers like Beltrán, Cain and Davis. 75% gets you in. ⚾
Salvador Perez's 2026 ended with a career-worst 77 wRC+ and -1.1 fWAR, despite a 105 wRC+ second half and a WBC title with Venezuela. The review suggests a part-time role in 2027 is the smart play. 📉
Angeibel Gomez, 17, is holding his own in the Arizona Fall League: .333/.421/.485 with four steals through nine games. Zion Rose, the Royals' top pick, is also in Arizona. Gomez is the second-youngest player in AFL history. 🔥
Royals outfield prospect Carson Roccaforte, who plays for Triple-A Omaha, has won a 2026 Minor League Gold Glove. He is one of nine winners, a group led by Top 100 prospects Franklin Arias, Josiah Hartshorn and Caden Bodine. Omaha's defense gets some hardware. 🧤
Jim Bowden pegs Daulton Varsho as a buy-low center field fit for the Royals, who enter the offseason with only right field settled. Varsho slumped to .221 in 2026, but his prior Toronto work suggests a rebound. Bowden also names one outfielder to avoid.
